GSFT School Safety Certification

We are a private company

GSFT - School Safety Certification is a privately owned Texas business. We are not a government agency and are not part of, affiliated with, or endorsed by the Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC), Texas State University, the Texas Education Agency (TEA), the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), or the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).

What "registered" means — and does not mean

GSFT is listed on the Texas School Safety and Security Consultant Registry, as Texas Education Code §37.2091 requires of anyone providing school safety or security consulting services to Texas districts. Registry listing means the TxSSC has verified submitted qualifications. It is not a state certification, license, or endorsement of quality, and no registrant may claim otherwise.

What "certification" means on this site

Our business name refers to the school safety certification course established by Texas Government Code §411.1901. Under that statute, DPS certifies individual instructors to deliver the course; our instructors hold that certification personally. Course completion is recorded by DPS as a school safety endorsement on the participant’s Texas License to Carry. The endorsement is not a standalone license — it remains valid only while the underlying LTC is current — and it does not by itself authorize anyone to carry a firearm on school premises. That authority exists only under a school board’s written regulations or written authorization (Texas Penal Code §46.03(a)(1)(A)).

No legal-outcome promises

No training, audit, or consulting service can guarantee compliance findings, prevent litigation, or confer immunity from liability. Statutory protections belong to districts and their employees by law and depend on facts. What we provide is professional work, documented thoroughly, aligned to current statute — and we encourage every client to involve its own counsel in program decisions.
