Why the registry matters to you — not just to us
Texas Education Code §37.2091 defines school safety or security consulting broadly: advice, information, recommendations, data collection, or audit services — paid or unpaid. Anyone providing those services in Texas must be on the TxSSC Consultant Registry, and §37.2091(b-1) puts a duty on you: a district must confirm a person is listed before engaging them. So make the registry check your first vetting step for any consultant — it takes two minutes at registry.txssc.txstate.edu, and a consultant who isn’t listed isn’t one you can lawfully engage.
